    Video: Alleykat’s Australia (EP.15)

We had cycled 30,000km across Europe, Central Asia, East Asia and South-East Asia, and were finally in our homeland, Australia! It was big, laid back and beautiful; just how we remembered it. Unfortunately, our plans to ride all the way home to Melbourne didn’t work out, so we’ll save the rest for another time. 🙂

    Video: Alleykat Stomachs Malaysia (EP.14)

We stomached the incredible food from a mix of cultures, we stomached the busy and fast-moving roads of the west coast, we stomached the palm oil from the plantations that devastate the lands, and we stomached almost getting robbed by a guy with a big machete! You’ll have to read the machete story on our website. Highlights of Malaysia included the wonderful city of Georgetown and the delectable Indian bread, Roti Canai.

    Video: Alleykat Tastes Thailand (EP.13)

Thailand is a paradise for all things food! It’s home to the best street food in the world, without doubt. The countryside is often stunning to ride through and the drivers are always kind and courteous to cycle tourists. There are western comforts in every small town in the form of 7Eleven convenience stores and clean budget hotels. We love Thailand!

  • Video: Alleykat Loves Laos (EP.12)

    Video: Alleykat Loves Laos (EP.12)

The Lao people are different from other nations in the region. The Buddhist teachings and beliefs specific to Laos have created a nation of friendly, generous and relaxed people – a stark comparison to neighbouring countries Vietnam and China. The physical landscape is both mountainous and riverine, and limestone features heavily across the land, creating beautiful vistas to those adventurous enough to tackle the steep roads.

    Video: Alleykat Races Vietnam (EP.11)

Vietnam is an incredible place to explore! Unfortunately our plans for the country didn’t eventuate to their full potential, however we still had time for a great race, bird watching, national parks, temples, ancient cities and incredible food.

    Video: Alleykat Roams Cambodia (EP.10)

Cambodia is full of contradictions; the smiles, the infamous temples and NGO investments are only one side of the story. The other is full of corruption, sadness and bloodshed. Despite this sad history, it is easy to have a great time in Cambodia, the temples and scenery will blow your socks off!

Video: Alleykat Admires the Philippines (EP.9)

The Philippines are gifted with incredible scenery: beaches, jungles, mountains and interesting roads to cycle about on. The Philippino people are possibly more incredible – they are relentlessly positive and enthusiastic, friendly, generous, and to our surprise, are very well-spoken in English. We believe the Philippines is a great place to travel, particularly for those with a keen sense of adventure!

    Video: Alleykat Canoodles Japan (EP.8)

Japan is both familiar and other-worldly. It’s a generally closed society where 99%+ are Japanese born, creating an environment steeped in tradition, and unique culture of everything from normal to bizarre. The people were gorgeous and friendly, it’s a brilliant place to be on a bike and the natural environment is just divine.

After our two-month cycling experience in Japan, we believe it is one of the most interesting countries to visit in the world.

    Video: Alleykat Crosses Korea (EP.7)

Korea is a wonderful country. As we describe in the film there is a healthy mix of normal and crazy, making Korea super interesting at all times. The bike path network is incredible, as is the endless supply of remote mountain roads. We found the people to be both generous and kind to us.

After our experience in Korea, it is safe to say that it is one of our favourite countries to travel!
